Motorcycle Vests
A motorcycle vest is one of the most versatile layers in riding: torso coverage in scorching heat, warmth under a jacket in the cold, and the traditional canvas for a patch collection. Wicked Stock carries biker vests in leather and denim, covering the styles riders build a look around: classic western, club style, conceal carry, and high visibility.
The Lineup
Our leather motorcycle vests include full grain cowhide styles, from classic western cuts to a trim club cut in 1.1 to 1.2mm cowhide. Closures vary: brass snaps and five-button fronts on the western vests, zip-and-snap on the club style, all fully lined in polyester. The high visibility vest is a top grain leather build with two reflective stripes, made to be worn over your riding gear to improve how easily other drivers can see you. Denim vests round out the collection for riders building a patch vest the traditional way.
What a Vest Does and Does Not Do
Straight answer: a vest does not protect like an armored jacket, and we will not pretend otherwise. What a vest does well is provide torso coverage against sun and wind in serious heat, layer under a jacket for core warmth in the cold, carry your patches, and look right doing all of it. Riders who want warm-weather impact protection should look at our armored mesh riding shirts and mesh motorcycle jackets.
Style Notes
Club style vests run trim with flat backs built for patches. Our club style vest doubles as the conceal carry option, with an internal gun pocket among six inside pockets. Classic western cuts suit cruiser riders who want the traditional look, and button-front designs keep it understated. Product pages carry the details on each cut.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the point of a motorcycle vest?
Three things: comfortable torso coverage when a full jacket is too hot, a warmth layer under a jacket when it is cold, and the traditional way riders display patches and club identity. It is one of the most flexible pieces in a rider's closet, worn across more of the year than most gear.
Do motorcycle vests offer protection?
A standard vest provides coverage from sun and wind, not impact protection. Vests do not carry the CE armor that jackets and armored shirts do. If you want protection with vest-like airflow, an armored mesh riding shirt is the better choice.
What is a club style vest?
A club style vest is cut trim with a clean, flat back panel designed to carry a large centerpiece patch, with minimal seams or pockets interrupting the display area. It is the usual choice for riders in clubs or anyone building a serious patch vest.
What is a conceal carry vest?
A conceal carry vest includes an internal pocket sized and positioned for a firearm. Our club style leather vest carries an inside gun pocket, one of six inside pockets, with the full pocket layout listed on the product page. Laws and permit requirements vary by state and locality, so check the rules that apply where you ride before carrying.
How should a motorcycle vest fit?
Decide how you will wear it first. Worn alone over a shirt, fit close to the body. Worn as a layer over a hoodie or under a jacket, go roomier. The size chart on each product page covers measurements, and returns are accepted within 30 days with no restocking fee.
Leather or denim for a patch vest?
A well-made leather vest lasts for years with care, but patches have to be sewn on. Denim is lighter, cheaper, and takes iron-on patches more easily, which makes it the simpler first vest, though sewing holds up best either way. The patch wall is here.
